Our hearts and prayers are with everybody on Maui. The devastation of the August 2023 wildfires is beyond comprehension, and we are so sorry for your loss. In this time of crisis, the Henry Kapono Foundation remains steadfast in its dedication to our fellow musical brothers and sisters.
The "We Are Friends Maui," an emergency basic essential relief initiative, offering $500 Foodland grocery cards to professional entertainment families who the Maui fires have directly impacted has been closed and Maui applicants can continue to apply vis the We Are Friends 2.0 Grocery Card Program for all Islands.
As we move into 2024, the WAFM program, which started as an emergency relief initiative is expanding. WAFM is launching support for community outreach with the HKF ‘Healing through Music’ program, and empower Maui’s music community to thrive. WAFM will be supporting meaningful work opportunities for Maui’s legendary, established, and up & coming entertainers through grants, sponsorships, & live events with organizations looking for talent.
