Alx Kawakami is a versatile singer, songwriter, producer, and performer whose music career has taken him around the world and into the hearts of fans for over 15 years. Known for his high-energy performances and relatable songwriting, Alx has built a reputation for creating music that connects—from catchy commercial jingles to deeply personal original songs.
A founding member of the award-winning group ManoaDNA, Alx helped craft a sound that blended Hawaiian roots with pop, folk, and rock influences, touring extensively throughout Hawai‘i, Japan, and beyond. As a solo artist, he’s continued that momentum with his own original releases and collaborations that highlight his distinct voice and musical range.
His talent behind the scenes is just as strong. Alx has written and produced commercial theme songs and jingles for major brands including McDonald’s, Waiola Coconut Water, Suntory Premium Malts Beer, Forever Living Japan, and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, earning industry recognition for both his songwriting and studio engineering.
While living in Los Angeles from 2014 to 2016, Alx worked under the mentorship of GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac), who dubbed him the “Hawaiʻi’s James Taylor” for his warm tone and storytelling style. His musical inspirations span a wide range—from James Taylor, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and The Eagles, to modern influences like John Mayer and Jason Mraz—all of which inform his genre-blending sound.
