Elevating Hawaiʻi’s Musicians

The ON THE RISE (OTR) Program is dedicated to elevating Hawaiߵi’s musicians early in their careers as professional entertainers.

Through community partnerships and resources, the OTR program provides mentorship, meaningful work & performance opportunities. Expanding in 2024, the program will offer workshops & seminars to develop an understanding of various aspects of music and business, including songwriting, marketing, self-promotion, stage presence & performance skills.

OTR’s J.Lyn on the HKF Program

Through the HKF OTR program, these next generation of musicians have had the opportunity to perform on stage for sold-out crowds, with some of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic musicians like Henry Kapono, Jerry Santos, Keola Beamer, Mākaha Sons, Brother Noland…at events with thousands in attendance and some of Hawaiʻi’s most respected venues.

    FOUNDER & MENTOR

    Grateful for the love and support Henry has had through the years, he is grateful to mentor, provide opportunities and give back to Hawai‘i’s future generations of musicians through the On the Rise Program. Henry provides personal guidance and feedback to each On the Rise artist.

    PROGRAM MANAGER

    Motivated by the abundance of talent in Hawaiʻi, seasoned Sound Engineer and Music Producer, Daniel has taken on the role of OTR Program Manager. Daniel is inspired o contribute to the growth of the Hawaiʻi music industry, sharing the vision of raising the bar, fostering relationships, and building a supportive artist community.

    OPERATIONS & LOGISTICS

    Haumea has extensive experience “behind the scenes” in the Hawaiߵi music and entertainment industry. and loves to see new talent succeed. Volunteering her time to HKF Events, Haumea is critical to the behind the scenes operations, overseeing event coordination, and logistics.
