Duva 2025 HKF On the Rise Artist
From an early age, Duva had an innate affinity for music. Mastering the ukulele at 6, guitar at 10, piano at 18, and then delving into drum and bass, her musical journey began. Reflecting on her earliest memories, she notes, "I can't pinpoint a time when I wasn't drawn to music. I would hear a sound, and that was it. It’s like I was born with it."
Duva's professional journey kicked off in 2015 as a Lead Guitarist in the island music scene. Here, she immersed herself in diverse influences, drawing inspiration from local acts such as Pure Heart, Kapena, and Fiji, as well as Sublime and Red Hot Chili Peppers. These influences, coupled with elements of Hip Hop, sparked her passion for Blues Rock, ultimately shaping her distinctive musical style.
For Duva, music is more than a career—it's a reflection of her ethos, rooted in the spirit of Aloha. She aims to craft melodies that resonate with joy, embodying a contagious sense of positivity. Duva has shared the stage with today’s top artists, including Katchafire, Kapena, Brother Noland & Henry Kapono. Since then, she has been developing her craft as a singer-songwriter and continues to perform actively, both as a sought-after solo artist and session musician.
