Jeff Rasmussen’s musical journey began in 1974 as a charter member of the Honolulu Boy Choir, where he toured throughout the West Coast, East Coast, and Canada. After leaving the choir in 1980, he joined the group Free and Easy, performing a diverse mix of reggae, Top 40 hits, oldies, classic Hawaiian music, Hawaiian falsetto, and harmony-rich arrangements featuring ʻukulele and guitar.

Shortly after graduating from high school in 1982, Jeff spent six months in Japan performing with the Polynesian revue Tamure, where he showcased his talents as a fire knife dancer, fire walker, and musician. Upon returning to Hawaiʻi, he joined the legendary Moe Keale, performing and touring with him for four years, including appearances in Samoa. Following the release of Moe’s album A Part of Me, A Part of You, Jeff continued his musical journey with Tony Conjugacion, remaining with the renowned entertainer for another four years.

Jeff later launched his solo career, releasing his debut album Without You, co-produced by Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning producer Kenneth Makuakane. While working on his second album, he was invited by Makuakane to join the acclaimed group The Pandanus Club, where he performed for several years before passing the baton to Gary Haleamau.

Over the years, Jeff continued recording and performing, including a lengthy tenure with international reggae artist Fiji. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with many of Hawaiʻi’s most celebrated musicians, including Mackey Feary, Henry Kapono, Robi Kahakalau, Nina Kealiʻiwahamana, Brickwood Galuteria, Willie K, Amy Hānaialiʻi, Eric Gilliom, Malani Bilyeu, Darren Benitez, Sean Naʻauao, and countless others. He has also collaborated extensively with the internationally recognized reggae band Big Mountain.
