2025 HKF On the Rise Artist Lovejack

Lovejack redefines the boundaries of the cello. Leaving the chair behind, he straps on his cello and elevates the classical instrument with rock energy and bold originality. From reimagined pop hits and classical melodies to heartfelt originals, he delivers a high-energy musical journey with unmatched charisma, creativity, and genre-defying talent.

“Bridgerton Pop” singer and cello player Lovejack

The name Lovejack is inspired by the Jack of Hearts playing card—symbolizing romance and innocence, or as he puts it, “an honest young man in love.”

This handle found him shortly before departing from the Emmy-nominated and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning band Streetlight Cadence, known for their folk-pop energy and quirky spirit.

Stepping out as a solo artist, Lovejack developed a cello-rhythm looping style, affectionately dubbed a “Bridgerton Pop,” that blends warmth, moodiness, and pop-driven hooks, creating “lovely music for lovely people.” His performances—featuring the cello and drums—are fresh, family-friendly, and full of personality, often praised for their inviting vibe and electrifying energy.

On October 13, 2023, he released his debut solo album, Jack of Hearts, featuring the fan-favorite single “writing songs about you.” The album earned a 2023 Nā Hōkū Hanohano nomination for Alternative Album of the Year.

Performing regularly around Oʻahu, Lovejack is currently working on his sophomore album, Queen of Hearts, and looks forward to sharing his sound with even more of the world.
