2026 HAWAII SONGWRITING FESTIVAL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Through the Imua Program, HKF is proud to partner with the following like minded organizations to support music opportunities and career development.
In 2022, the HKF and University of Hawaiߵi’s Windward Community CollegeCampus, partnered to create the Henry Kapono Foundation’s Hawaiian Music Scholarship Fund for the Ka‘ohekani cohort program, which launched for the 2023-24 Academic Year and continues today.
To date the HKF has supported 11 HKF Hawaiian Music Scholarships.

HKF is proud to be a scholarship sponsor the Hawai‘i Songwriting Festival since 2023, the state’s premier songwriting conference. This world-class event unites aspiring and established songwriters with top industry professionals for inspiring workshops, mentorship, and career-changing opportunities. An unforgettable celebration of music and creativity.
Since 2022, HKF has provided 34 scholarships.

HKF proudly supports Kailua Music School (KMS), a creative education hub offering mentorship, classes, and performance opportunities in music, band, theater, film, and fashion for students of all ages.
Since partnering with KMS, HKF has supported student development through mentorship with Henry Kapono, grants, and five live performance opportunities, helping elevate the next generation of Hawaiʻi’s creative talent early in their musical journey.
HKF proudly supports MeleCraft Bootcamp, a mentorship program led by Grammy-nominated producer Kimié Miner that empowers youth ages 14–22 through songwriting, music production, and industry education rooted in Hawaiian culture.
Since 2024, HKF has supported three bootcamps, expanding access to this free program for emerging artists across Hawaiʻi.

HKF is Honored to have Provided 3 full scholarships for 3 Maui resident musicians (covering registration, hotel, & transproation) and 7 general registration scholarships to qualified HKF On the Rise Artists. The Hawaii Sogwiritng Festical is held annually in Hapuna, Hawaii Island.
