HKF is the proud music sponsor of the 17th Annual Waimānalo Kanikapila Artists for this Free annual gathering of Hawai‘i’s best musicians, dancers and entertainers that is held in memory of legendary Cyril Lani Pahinui and his renowned father, Gabby Pahinui. 

Held on April 20, 2024 from 9:00am to 6:00pm, the festival featured local vendors which included crafts, food, and service opportunities, including Windward Community College promoting the Hawaiian Music Program and the Henry Kapono Foundation’s Hawaiian Music Scholarship.

The day featured over 70 musicians and dancers on the stage at Waimānalo Beach Park in celebration of Hawai'i’s island music, the art of slack key, and the graceful storytelling of the art of hula. This included Henry Kapono, and HKF On the Rise Artists, Kaiona performing an unforgettable, high energy set of contemporary island and Hawaiian classics.

What started 17 years ago as a hui (group) of musicians who got together for a jam session on the beach, is now a beloved gathering of community for entertainers, locals and visitors alike.
