Henry Kapono Foundation
Founded in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) organization, The Henry Kapono Foundation (HKF) is rooted in Hawai'i and driven by the vision of celebrated entertainer Henry Kapono and his wife, Lezlee Ka’aihue. Grounded in Henry's unwavering passion for music and his beloved home in the islands, the HKF is dedicated to giving back to the community that has enriched his life immeasurably..
The Henry Kapono Foundation empowers Hawai‘i’s music community, fueling the careers of emerging artists, uplifting working musicians, and supporting the venues, education, and cultural traditions that keep island music alive. Through concerts, mentorship, direct funding, and year-round programs, HKF creates real opportunities for Hawai‘i’s artists to thrive, grow, and share their gifts with the world. Rooted in the spirit of aloha and guided by a deep respect for those who came before, we’re building a future where music continues to tell the story of Hawai‘i.
